Housing

On-campus housing is not available at Hartnell College. The International Student Center of Hartnell College will assist students in locating housing.

Many international students choose to live with an American family as part of the homestay program. Living in an English-speaking environment and participating in the family activities provides an important cultural experience for international students.

Students may live in an apartment close to the campus. Most apartments do not have furniture. That means that you must provide bed, tables, chairs, desk, lamps, kitchen utensils/cookware and bed and bath linens. The International Student Center assists students to find apartments once they have arrived in Salinas.

A room with a family is approximately $450 per month. The rent for a one-bedroom apartment is about $750 per month.
