The music department at Hartnell College provides students with the resources to study vocal and instrumental music in a variety of ensembles. Students participate in choir, orchestra, wind ensemble, jazz band and guitar ensemble. They can take piano, music theory, vocal and instrumental fundamentals, electronic music, and a variety of appreciation classes designed to achieve as professional musicians, or pass music diagnostic placement exams upon transferring to four-year schools.
