Dr. Anne Benvenuti
Hartnell College is proud to introduce its inaugural Educator-in-Residence, Dr. Anne Benvenuti, who will help lead our community in a multi-disciplinary exploration of a broad range of topics including affective neuroscience, resilience, the human-animal connection, nature and human nature, and global perspectives on mental health.
Dr. Benvenuti will join us this spring for visits in January, March, April, and May, leading student seminars, staff roundtables, and presenting public talks on these topics and more. Her full schedule of activities can be found here.
Dr. Benvenuti will draw on her experience from 24 years as a psychology and philosophy professor at Cerro Coso Community College, a co-convener of the Gender Perspectives and Mental Health Working Group of the United Nations NGO Committee on Mental Health, a trustee and UN representative for the Council for a Parliament of the World's Religions, a poet, and author of Spirit Unleashed: Re-imagining Human-Animal Relations.
