More than 80 future teachers from the joint Teacher Pathway Program (TPP) at Hartnell College and Cal State Monterey Bay participated in a Teacher Mentor Workshop on Feb. 8 at La Gloria Elementary School in Gonzalez.
Students received an immersive elementary classroom tour, led by current south Monterey County elementary school teachers. These experienced teacher mentors shared effective teaching methods, how to move students through their day and real-world classroom expectations. Five current TPP students served as panelists, sharing their experiences transitioning to CSUMB and imparting advice on skills that lead to academic success.
