Hello my name is Maria Parra. This is my first semester in CSUMB. I transferred from Hartnell where I spent 2.5 years. My major is in Spanish. I plan on teaching or maybe getting into the translation. I hope to finish my CSUMB career in two years. What is one thing you wished you would have known before coming to college? One thing that I wished that I would have known was that there are many tools offered to you to help you. They will help you greatly in the long run. Another thing is try to join any program that you believe can help you academically like EOPS or TRIO. What is your dream job? My dream job changes from time to time. The only thing that I know is that I want to finish my degree in Spanish and that I want to help people. Like I said my dream job has changed. I had interest in becoming a teacher also I have wanted to become a translator but now something that has caught my interest in going into Human Resources. |

Hello everyone my name is Martha Haro. I am a Senior at CSUMB majoring in Environmental Studies with a minor in Environmental Science. I graduated from Hartnell in Spring of 2020 with my Associates Degree in Agricultural Production. I am currently working for the Career Prep & Placement Services as a Student Success Coach helping students like me during the pandemic. What is the best career advice ever received? Best career advice I ever received was during the Produce Market Association Fresh Summit. One agricultural industry leader told me “Best advice I can give you is to remember people's faces and names. Always say hi to them when you see them. I promise you that by doing this they will remember who you are. You never know who in this room will be your next boss.” What is my favorite food and why? Favorite food hands down has to be pizza. Specifically pepperoni pizza with extra pepperoni 😋 |

Hello everyone! My name is Ruby Romero. I am 20 years old and this is my second year at Hartnell. I am completing a double major in Plant Science and Ag Business. My goal is to transfer to CSU Chico to major in Agriculture Education with a minor in Crop Science. My career goal for the future is to become a high school Ag Teacher and after a few years become a college professor. What is one piece of advice you think helped you in your educational journey? Know that everyone’s educational path is different. Every person has a different experience and that is okay. It doesn’t matter how long you take as long as you are doing what you are passionate about. Be proud of yourself. What is your favorite animal? Elephants and monkeys 😂 |
