The theme for this year's conference is Transformation for Student Success. Designed to enhance academic excellence and support student success across our college community, this two-day event will offer professional development opportunities for all Hartnell College faculty, administrators, and staff.
This year's conference will feature:

Trudi Radtke is a believer in education technology, open access advocacy, and Al integration. As an Open access advocate and researcher Trudi served as the lead editor for over 100 open access textbooks and advocated for open access policies at the state, federal, and international level including crafting policy briefs for U.S. Congress and driving systemic change through equitable access policies. As a technologist, AI literacy researcher, and AI Fellow at the state chancellor’s office Trudi's main research focus is the critical expansion of digital literacy and the role it plays in creating informed and empowered citizens. Their commitment to equity, accessibility, and innovation reflects both their professional achievements and personal journey as a first-generation college graduate and lifelong learner.

Explaining RSI and the latest ACCJC rubric for online classes. We will review expectations for meeting RSI requirements and the timeline for implementation. This will be hosted by the DE Committee.
Zoom Retention - 411 Session

Zoom is managed by the Chancellor’s Office Tech Center on behalf of the California
Community Colleges. This October the Tech Center will be implementing a retention
policy for Zoom. Learn about what this means to you, how you can use the three D’s

manage your recordings and what integration between box and zoom can do for you.

Event Planning 101: A Guide to Hosting Successful Campus Events

Keynote Speaker: Debbie Hanson

Debbie Hanson is an experienced scholar-practitioner specializing in racial equity in higher education. She currently serves as an Associate Director at the University of Southern California’s Race and Equity Center, where her work focuses on supporting higher education practitioners in leveraging their own agency to serve racial equity. Her portfolio includes designing and implementing professional development curricula, facilitating campus-based institutes, and advising on race-conscious institutional assessment strategies. She regularly collaborates with faculty, staff, and leadership to identify policies, practices, and structures exacerbating racial inequity and developing contextualized, sustainable, race-conscious change.
Prior to joining the Race and Equity Center, Debbie worked at the Center for Urban Education, where she contributed to the development of Estela Bensimon’s nationally recognized Equity Scorecard process. She holds a Master of Education in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs from the University of Southern California and a Master of Arts in Rhetoric and Applied Writing from St. Cloud State University. Debbie is also in the final lap of her Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership at Florida State University. Her dissertation is titled “Examining How Equity-Producing Community College Instructors Engage in Racial-Noticing.”
