Math & Science Academies

The Hartnell College Math Academy and the new Reading and Writing Academy are held each summer and winter during the semester break. Only the very best math tutors and English SI Leaders are selected to work with the Academies. These same tutors and SI Leaders continue to support their Academy students during the semester that follows each Academy, their Lifeline semester. Around half of the Math Academy students re-assess into a higher level of math and are more likely to succeed than if they had not attended the Academy and had taken the lower level math course. Academy students can register online and tutors are selected near the end of the fall and spring semesters.
