SALINAS, CA. (May 9, 2023) — Hartnell College will honor the academic achievements of the Class of 2023 during a Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 19, at 4:00 p.m. at Rabobank Stadium, 1034 N. Main St., Salinas, CA 93906.
The ceremony will feature the official conferring of degrees by Michael Gutierrez, Hartnell Community College District Superintendent/President, and expected to confer 1,110 graduates who completed coursework during the 2023 spring, 2022 fall, and 2022 summer semesters. Hartnell College will award approximately 1,077 associate degrees and 892 college-level certificates this academic year.
Rabobank Stadium gates will open at 3 p.m., and guest seating is first come, first serve. Guest passes are required for entry. Sign language interpreting services for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing will be available. To obtain accessibility parking and seating passes, guests should contact the Office of Student Life at (831) 755-6734.
To ensure a memorable commencement ceremony for graduates and guests, Hartnell College
kindly asks for the following requests to be taken into consideration:
• The ceremony is mask friendly. Please be respectful of others.
• Guest ticket admits one (1) person age three and up.
• Use the Main Street entrance for parking.
• Remain seated during the entire ceremony.
• Exit the venue as soon as the ceremony ends.
Prohibited items:
• Alcohol
• Baby seats and strollers
• Balloons (of any kind)
• Banners and signs that block the view of other fellow guests
• Coolers, containers, or ice chests
• Explosives, firearms, or weapons
• Confetti of any kind
• Fresh flower leis on the football field
Items that are allowed for graduation ceremonies include:
• Bags necessary for approved medical equipment
• Empty, clear plastic water bottles less than 17 oz.
• Seat cushions and chair backs smaller than 16” wide and without frames or armrests
• Still photography cameras
• Video cameras
Guests are also reminded that Rabobank Stadium is tobacco, electronic cigarette, and
vaping
device-free.
