Sophomore cross country runner Arlene Diaz Leal earlier this month signed a letter of intent to transfer to CSU Monterey Bay beninning this semester and compete for the Otters’ program in NCAA Division II. She will major in business.
Diaz Leal capped her outstanding career at Hartnell by placing 19th in a field of 164 at the CCCAA Championship on Nov. 17 in Fresno. That helped her team to a second-place statewide finish, its best ever. Her time of 19:05 over the 5k course at Woodward Park is the seventh best in program history.
