A Hartnell-sponsored trip on Feb. 9 to the Black College Expo in Oakland yielded impressive results for participants in the group chaperoned by counselor Tony Anderson.
Among the successful outcomes: concurrent enrollment student Asante Madrigal received on-the-spot admission with a full ride scholarship to Benedict College in Columbia, S.C.; Tyler Williams was offered an animation internship with Disney Studios; Keyshawn Robinson was offered a partial scholarship at two different colleges; and Denzel Longmore, Donovan Smith and Daniel Bost each applied to at least three Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
