SALINAS, Calif. – Hartnell Community College District is proud to announce the installation of 14 electric vehicle charging eVgo stubs at two of our campuses on 411 Central Avenue and 1752 E. Alisal Street in Salinas, CA.

The Governing Board of the Hartnell CCD approved an agreement with eVgo for installation of electric service infrastructure and make-ready stubs for electronic vehicles on the Main and Alisal Campuses. Electric vehicle owners can subscribe directly through eVgo for a charging plan; eVgo reimburses the District to cover the cost of providing electricity for charging the electric vehicles.

The Hartnell CCD is committed to sustainability and to being good stewards of the environment.  “We know that the number of electric vehicle owners is growing among our students and employees,” expressed Superintendent/President, Dr. Willard Lewallen.  “We want to do our part to support these individuals who, through their use of electric vehicles, are reducing carbon emissions and the production of greenhouse gases."

eVgo installed 10 stations in the Parking Structure (First Level) on the Main Campus and 4 stations in the Parking Lot at the Alisal Campus. Prior to this the District had 1 station at the Alisal Campus, 2 at the Main Campus, and 1 at the King City Education Center. There was no cost to the District to install the charging stations.
