This ceremony will remember the lives of 2,977 victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States.  This year, the Office of Student Life will Remember our Own  - a commemoration of recent violent events that have taken innocent lives around the country and here in our own back yards – most recently two Hartnell students, Martin O. Heredia and Salvador Duran.

Guest speakers for this special ceremony will include Superintendent/President, Dr. Willard Lewallen, Mayor of the City of Salinas, Joe Gunter, and a keynote from News Director and Anchor at Univision 67, Erandi Garcia. Her dad was murdered in Salinas as he walked over to his car to go to work; he was 61 years old.  Erandi will share on her loss and express what she is doing now to make this a safer place for the community.

The Hartnell Sociology Club will have a Call to Action to End Violence and will ask the audience to take the pledge.

This ceremony is open to the media and the community. Light refreshments will be served.
