SALINAS, Calif. – Hartnell Community College District has an open call for nominations for this year’s Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna to also be our 2016 Commencement Speaker.  This special award and recognition is granted to an individual who has achieved distinction in his/her chosen field and has demonstrated on-going contributions to the College.

“During its 95 year history Hartnell College has provided a foundation of excellence that has launched successful lives and careers,” said Superintendent/President, Dr. Willard Lewallen.  “The Distinguished Alum Award provides an opportunity for us to recognize the accomplishments of Hartnell alumni who have distinguished themselves as leaders and contributors following their education experience at Hartnell.”            

The nomination period is now open through February 26, 2016.  Hartnell College Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award nominees may be recommended to the President/Superintendent by Trustees, employees, and the community at large.

Our Governing Board will make the final selection at their development meeting on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at which time the 2016 Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna will be announced.
