SALINAS, Calif. - Hartnell College and its Athletics Department are happy to announce the inductees for the Third Annual Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 411 Central Avenue, Salinas, CA. This event will induct 13 individuals and one team in a day filled with celebration, cheer, and a football game.

“Hartnell College has a rich and diverse history of athletic success,” said Dr. Willard Lewallen, Superintendent/President.  “The Hartnell College Athletics Hall of Fame was founded to recognize the contributions of individuals and teams to that legacy. I look forward to inducting the next class into the Hall of Fame.”

The flood of nominations was reviewed by the Athletics Hall of Fame committee; this group is composed of community members, media representatives, public officials, donors, and Hartnell staff.  The inductees for the Third Annual Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2015 are:

“The Athletics Hall of Fame gives inductees recognition for their dedication, accomplishments, and contributions – being a vital part of our rich history within our community," said Director of Physical Education and Athletics, Dan Teresa.

In the last 80 years, Hartnell has produced over 9,000 student/athletes who have achieved success in athletics and in the classroom, winning over 75 Conference Championships, numerous Northern California Championships and State awards, the 1952 Junior Rose Bowl Championship, 1984 State Championship in Baseball, Men’s Soccer Team was State Champion in 2013, plus Track & Field and Cross Country continue to stay high in the rankings.

The day of celebration will include a campus tour by Superintendent/President, Dr. Willard Lewallen, luncheon, induction ceremony, a tour of the Athletic Hall of Fame wall, and a football game against Reedly College at Rabobank Stadium.
