SALINAS, Calif. - On Tuesday, November 11, 2014, the Hartnell Veterans Services Center, the Office of Student Life, and the Veterans Club will host the Second Annual Veterans Day Event with a morning workout followed by a ceremony at 411 Central Avenue, Salinas, CA.  This is a day to celebrate and recognize our veterans and their families.

“As the proud son of a World War II veteran, I will never miss an opportunity to thank the brave men and women of our military,” shared Superintendent/President, Dr. Willard Lewallen.  “As a result of their contributions and sacrifices we get to enjoy freedom and the liberty to pursue our own interests, hopes, and dreams.”

The day’s events will start at 11:00 a.m. in the quad area in front of the Student Center with Work Out of the Day (WOD) for Armistice by HyperActive Crossfit of Salinas, followed by a Veterans Day Ceremony.  The program will go as follows:

What does Veterans Day means to us?

“We are blessed to be citizens of the greatest nation on the earth and that blessing has come because the men and women of our military protect our way of life. Let freedom ring!” added Dr. Lewallen.
