"In the past three Hall of Fames, the inductees and their families have been very thankful and appreciative for the recognition they have received by Hartnell College," shared Director of Athletics and Physical Education, Dan Teresa. "Many tears and smiles were shared at the past events by the teams and individuals receiving the prestigious honor."

Hartnell College has a rich athletic tradition and a long history of success that spans over the past 80 years, producing well over 8,000 student-athletes who have not only achieved success in athletics, but also in the classroom and in life.

It was Dr. Lewallen who learned of this rich history as he took over as Superintendent/President of the College in 2012 and set it as a goal to bring recognition and honor to such deserving group.

"There has been a very strong desire for Hartnell to have the Athletics Hall of Fame because of its rich tradition in athletics," stated Teresa. "With the support of our Superintendent/President, staff, and volunteers, we were able to successfully hold our first Hall of Fame in 2013."
