SALINAS, Calif. - On Friday, May 30, 2014, the Hartnell Community College District will hold its Commencement Ceremony in the Gymnasium located at 411 Central Avenue, Salinas, CA. The event will start at 6:30 p.m. and it is by invitation only. MEDIA check-in at entrance.

This year, we are issuing  682 Associate Degrees  to students who completed their coursework summer 2013, fall 2013, or spring 2014 and  493 Certificates  to recipients who completed their coursework during the same periods. A list of graduates is attached.

This will be a celebration of the students' education accomplishments and well wishes for the future ahead of them. The program will start with Superintendent/President, Dr. Willard Lewallen delivering the welcome and president's address, followed by the President of the Board of Trustees, Candi Depauw, recognition of the Class Valedictorians, recognition of High School Equivalency Students, certification of Class of 2014, presentation of graduates, and more.

Among the speakers, we are honored to introduce our 2014 Distinguished Alumna, Patricia Anna Garcia . She attended Hartnell College from 1988 to 1992 and earned two associate degrees in general education and in behavioral sciences. She acquired her bachelor's degree in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz and a Masters in Educational Supervision and Administration from San Jose State University. She currently teaches math at Harden Middle School in Salinas but has a vast list of accomplishments, recognitions, and achievements in and outside of the classroom.
