Hartnell College designated a safe campus

SALINAS, Calif.   – The Annual Security Report has designated the Hartnell Community College District as a safe campus.

The members of the Hartnell CCD Campus Safety Team remain steadfast in their commitment to the safety of all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. That commitment manifests itself in a variety of ways, such as ongoing internal analysis of crime trends and safety programs to include Emergency Management.  This analysis determines whether there are notable trends that are developing and/or programmatic inclusions for students so that there is proactive response to any incidents.

The District has posted its Annual Security Report as part of federal regulations required of all colleges and universities.   The report is on the Campus Safety and Security web page at  http://www.hartnell.edu/campus-safety-and-security , and contains important information related to any criminal activity that occurred on campus in 2016 as well as statistics for previous years.    The statistics for this year support that Hartnell CCD is a safe campus.

In addition to the Annual Security Report, each member of the Hartnell community is encouraged to read and review the District’s Emergency Action Plan.  This plan is located on the Campus Safety and Security web page and paper copies are available upon request from the Campus Safety and Security office in Building C.

Hartnell Community College District maintains community oriented policing through effective collaborative effort with official campus partners, such as the Office of Student Affairs as well as the Office of Administrative Services, which oversees facilities, food services, and events.
