Hartnell College welcomes a new academic year
SALINAS, Calif. – The Hartnell Community College District is happy to start the new 2017-2018 academic year. Today, August 14, 2017, the College welcomed new and continuing students. Thousands filled the classrooms. They are ready to continue their pursuit of higher education.
Hartnell College is glad to announce that more classes, including late-start sections, have been added to the fall 2017 semester and seats are still open. Those interested in adding a section should go to www.hartnell.edu/open-sections .
In addition to new sections, Hartnell offers a welcoming atmosphere this week through the Office of Student Life. The Week of Welcome activities are in the Student Center and include:
August 14 – Welcome tent and Scavenger Hunt
August 15 – 16 – Resource Fair, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
August 17 – Club Rush, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
August 18 – Friday Fun Day, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
For the last four years, the ‘welcome’ to students, faculty, and staff includes a hearty lunch. The Welcome back lunch will be on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. in Lawn Area, in front of the new STEM Center Building. Participants need to show Hartnell College I.D.
At Hartnell College, we are growing leaders through opportunity, engagement, and achievement. The goal is to support students to have a successful experience at the college, and assist those whose goal is to transfer on.
