Hartnell seeks nominations for the 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award
Candidate is also Commencement Speaker
SALINAS, Calif. – Hartnell Community College District has an open call for nominations for the 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award. The selected alumnus/alumna will also be our 2018 Commencement Speaker. This special award and recognition tradition began in 2014. It is granted to an individual who has achieved distinction in his/her chosen field and has demonstrated on-going contributions to the College and/or community.
The nomination period is now open through March 5, 2018 . Hartnell College Distinguished Alumni Award nominees may be recommended to the Superintendent/President by Trustees, employees, and the community at large.
“Hartnell College has provided a foundation of excellence that has launched successful lives and careers,” said Superintendent/President, Dr. Willard Lewallen. “The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes the accomplishments of Hartnell alumni who have distinguished themselves as leaders and contributors following their education experience at Hartnell.”
Past Distinguished Alumni include: Patricia Anna Garcia (2014), Dr. Norma Ambriz-Galaviz (2015), Gary Tanimura (2016) and Jeff Nessen Schmidt (2016-Posthumous), and Emmett Linder (2017). The nomination form is attached and can be mailed, e-mailed, or personally delivered to:
