SALINAS, Calif. - The Hartnell College Veterans Service Center will host their first Recognition and Appreciation Ceremony on Saturday May 31, 2014 at Steinbeck Hall located in Building C (Student Center) at 411 Central Avenue, Salinas, CA.
The ceremony will be at 5:00 p.m. followed by a dinner. About 100 students and guests, as well as community stakeholders were invited to this event. During the ceremony, we will recognize and honor Hartnell College veteran students who will be graduating and/or transferring to four year institutions. In addition, we will recognize those who have made contributions to the program through donations and support.
The program will be celebrating 16 veteran student graduates and transfers and 14 donors. These are the student honorees:

- Appreciation of community donors
The Hartnell College Veterans Service Center serves 125 certified Veteran students and Veteran dependents. In total, the program has given priority registration to 194 students for the upcoming fall 2014 semester. Hartnell College is one of the few community colleges in California with a Veterans Service Center; it opened in November 2012. The Center's availability has been essential for student participation. The number of returning veterans increases every semester.
