SALINAS, Calif. - Hartnell Community College District is happy to announce the Grand Opening of the Technical Training Building (TTB) on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. The event will be at the Hartnell Alisal Campus located at 1752 E. Alisal Street, Salinas, CA 93905. This event will include the following:

11:30 a.m.  - BBQ Lunch

12:00 noon - Program and ribbon cutting

12:30 p.m. - Tours of the facility

"The opening of the TTB represents a commitment from Hartnell College to deliver career technical education for high demand, good paying jobs," commented Superintendent/President, Dr. Willard Lewallen. "The TTB is a world class facility where students will have access to education and training for heavy duty diesel technology, auto technology, and sustainable design/construction."

Nov 15,2012 Ground-breaking ceremony for the Technical Training Building on Alisal Campus.

This 16,500 sq. ft. facility is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified and offers the latest in technology for high quality instruction, providing students with cutting edge knowledge of alternative fuels and sustainability. The building houses the Heavy Duty Diesel Technology, Auto Technology, and Sustainable Construction Programs.

The program's Emcee is Jim Bogart, Grower-Shipper Association of Central California; speakers will include Hartnell Superintendent/President, Dr. Willard Lewallen, Hartnell CCD Board of Trustees President, Candi Depauw, Chair of the Advanced Diesel Technology Committee, Al Parolini, President at Dilbeck & Sons, Sharon Dilbeck, President at Pacific Ag Rentals, Bart Walker, and President at Hayward Lumber, Bill Hayward.

With the support of industry partners, grants, and donors, the TTB is equipped with the best equipment and materials for providing relevant programs that meet the workforce needs of employers.

The Alisal Campus is home to the TTB and the Center for Advanced Technology with majors in agricultural business & production, food safety, heavy duty diesel, Ag & industrial technology, welding, construction, auto technology, and computer science along with general education classes.
