SALINAS, Calif. –  Hartnell Community College District  and the  Yes on Measure T Committee for the Future of Hartnell  are excited and appreciative for the passing of the bond measure that will take the college district to a new level of service and academic success.

 

“The passage of Measure T ensures that the people of the Salinas Valley will have access to world class learning facilities for generations to come,” commented Superintendent/President, Dr. Willard Lewallen. “Together with our many partners we are transforming lives and contributing to the social and economic vitality of the Salinas Valley.”

 

To address this victory and the plans for the future of Hartnell, a press conference is scheduled today hosted by Dr. Lewallen, and guest speakers, Erica Padilla-Chavez, President of the Board of Trustees, and Alfred Diaz-Infante, CEO at CHISPA and Chair of the Yes on T Committee:

Measure T is a $167,000,000 bond that will allow the district to renovate aged buildings, expand services in Salinas and the King City Education Center, plus construct learning centers in Castroville and Soledad and a new Nursing and Allied Health Center on Main Campus.  The cost to tax payers is only $19.85 for every $100,000 of assessed property value.

 

“We thank the voters of the Hartnell CCD for putting their faith in us,” added Dr. Lewallen. “We will not let them down.”
