A new academic year starts at Hartnell College

Over 50 classes still open for enrollment

SALINAS, Calif. – Hartnell Community College District welcomes the faculty and thousands of students to the start of the new 2016-2017 Academic Year today,  August 16, 2016 .

 

“Welcome to the new academic year!” said Superintendent/President, Dr. Willard Lewallen.  “We know wholeheartedly that with the commitment, dedication, and support of outstanding faculty and staff you can proudly be here today to achieve your goals.”

 

Over 50 classes are still available for enrollment in various disciplines of study. Students are urged to visit  www.hartnell.edu  to check the updated list of ‘open sections’ and to register.  Hartnell staff is available to answer questions all this week in the center of Main Campus right outside the Student Center.

 

“As we get ready to enter Hartnell’s 96th year, I believe strongly that your success is the result of our vision of opportunity, engagement, and achievement; always know that we are always here to assist you with your continued growth and development,” shared Dr. Lewallen.

 

Hartnell College also offers non-credit courses.  English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are still available at our Alisal Campus (AC), located at 1752 E. Alisal Street, Salinas. These are FREE and taught by Instructor Jesus Villicana:

 

  • ESL 410, Section 0756, Conversation and Vocabulary I, T/ Th, August 23-October 6 , from  6:00 - 8:35 p.m. , Room AC-C110

 

  • ESL 420, Section 0757, Conversation and Vocabulary II, T/ Th, October 11- November 29 , from  6-8:35 p.m. , Room AC-C110
