The symposium is the culmination of our STEM Summer Internship program and is a special opportunity for students to formally demonstrate their summer research results and celebrate their participation in this unique teaching and learning experience. These student interns are matched with university scientists and industry experts to conduct groundbreaking research in prestigious laboratories and local businesses throughout the region.  It is rare for community college students to be exposed to these types of opportunities.

With industry partnerships and support, Hartnell College is producing future generations of bright young scientists and strengthening diversity in the STEM workforce.  Through our innovative programs and initiatives, we are creating a new legacy of opportunity for the families of the Salinas Valley and beyond.

For a preview of the students’ work, the community is invited to attend the Internship Program Open House on Friday, August 21, 2015, 5:00 – 7:00 PM.
