SALINAS, Calif. – Hartnell Community College District and the Hartnell College Foundation present Party in the Library 2015 – Strut your Feathers, on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 411 Central Avenue, Salinas, CA starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Library.  The event will feature a roaming dinner, wines & martinis, a live auction with Butch Lindley, and dancing to the sounds of the Money Band.

This is its ninth year of successful fundraising, bringing together community business leaders into a celebratory atmosphere that celebrates higher education.

Since 2007, Party in the Library has raised $2,189,515.  These funds have helped in the creation of the Agricultural Institute, Science & Math Institute, the new Respiratory Care Practitioner program, the Center for Sustainable Design, and tripled the number of internships and scholarships offered to our students.

In 2015, the Party is presenting the Hartnell College Foundation Leadership Award to the founders of Party in the Library, Karen Fanoe and Kathy Moser.  This is the first time a pair is inducted into this special awards’ category. The Party committee saw it fitting to honor these ladies for their vision of philanthropy, which has reached heights both Karen and Kathy did not even imagine.

Last year, more than $340,000 was raised at the Party in the Library – the same is expected this year in order to continue assisting more students with scholarships and support them in their academic journey.
