We invite you to participate in these workshops as part of your student development requirement for the Salinas Valley Promise program. These sessions are created with you in mind--offering valuable opportunities to learn from experts, engage with a diverse community of fellow students, and dive into conversations that align with your academic and personal goals. It’s also a great chance to make new friends and build a strong support network during your time in Hartnell College.
Registering for SVP Workshops
All SVP Workshops can be found on our Hartnell College: Salinas Valley Promise Profile on Handshake.
Receiving Workshop Credit: To receive workshop credit, you must not only register but attend (and complete the sign in process) and to receive credit you must also complete a brief after workshop survey that will be sent to you from svp@hartnell.edu once we receive attendance lists. You will then receive confirmation of your attendance via email from svp@hartnell.edu.

- Access the Hartnell College: Salinas Valley Promise Collection Page
- On the collections page you will find all SVP Approved Workshops each semester.
- Register for the workshop(s) of your choice.
Important Notes: All workshops close for registration at 5:00 p.m., 2-3 business days (Monday-Friday) before the day of the workshop. Locations of the workshop will be released to students that successfully registered in advance. The notification of the location will not be released until after the workshop can no longer accept registrations.
2nd Year Grad Incentive Approved Workshops
2nd Year students have the opportunity to receive a cap and gown voucher if they complete one transfer option and one career option from the list below. Both options, must be completed by March 30, 2027 to qualify for the voucher.

1. Activate your student Hartnell Handshake account.
2. Access the 2nd Year Grad Incentive Approved Workshops Collection Page
3. Register for a transfer workshop and a career workshop.
*** Please note there are non-workshop options that will qualify for the Career & Transfer portions of the Grad Incentive. Please see the list below.

| Participation in Fellowship Programs (College Corps, Language Justice Fellowship, Dreamer Service Incentive Grant Fellows). | Participation in an internship (verified through CAT Hub) STEM, Learning to Lead and MESA (in Summer 2026, Fall 2026 or Spring 2027) We will verify your participation with Career Services! | Complete a CSU Transfer Success Pathway Agreement (TSP) or University of California Transfer Agreement (UC TAG). |
| Being employed on-campus during Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 term. Job postings can be found here. We will verify with HR! | Complete a Personal Insight Question (PIQ) with support from a workshop or appointment with the Transfer Center. PIQ should be submitted via Transfer Canvas Course. |
| Participation in Fall Career Workshop Series (Resume, Networking, etc.) hosted by CAT Hub. Check Handshake for SVP Second Year approved workshops! | Enroll in and successfully complete COU 9: Planning for Transfer Success Course in Fall '26 Semester (1-unit course). There are seats in COU-9 Section 5700 which starts on October 19! |
